There's a driver / firmware issue with all Fanatec wheels on the PC right now. There's no dampening effects.. I stopped running Fanatecs on the PC until they get this issue sorted out.. Try adjusting the dampening slider and see that nothing happens in iRacing. The on wheel SPR and DPR settings are for the console only.. My take on this wheel. Wait till they get the bugs worked out.. I have three CSR Elites and one CSW here in various states of non function. I can't even run it on the console because the pedal ports are dead..I don't want to run it on the PC due to the missing effects. Matter of fact.. Thomas didn't send us a final review unit and I don't even have a unit worthy of review here.. Pros - Great mechanism.. Cons - poor wheel design and button placement .. Also driver, centering and firmware Citaat: Jeremiah Allen: Just in case anyone isn't aware...all four of the wheels Darin is referring to are early to mid beta build....not final revision. Hopefully, the production wheels are better. Citaat: Darin Gangi: Thanks for clarifying that for me Jeremiah.. I have one with a rubber coated rim and was sent new PCBs for both the main board and the sensors.. So.. I have pretty current hardware. Citaat: Thomas Jackermeier: This is a false statement as well. Darin does not even have a wheel which is at the level of a community test wheel and certainly nothing with mass production quality. I am quite disappointed about this as it never happened before that any of our beta testers used the issues he found on a beta wheel to warn potential customers. A beta test is there to find issues and Darin was the very first to get the prototypes so he got very early revisions. His input helped us to make the wheel better and to avoid those problems in mass production. This is not cool. Citaat: Thomas Jackermeier: Funny thing is that Darin never realised any of those issues or reported them. He knows about them because of insider information as he was on CC: in several e-mails to game developers. It is actually true that we will make a driver update to increase the damper but so far nobody really complained about it or missed it a lot. It is not a big issue to fix either but we first want to finish the new firmware updater. The wheels Darin have are all very early beta wheels as he was participating in the confidential beta test. To use this information to warn people is not helpful for the community nor a very professional statement as those issues already have been sorted out. This message made it clear that Darin is not objective in anything related to Fanatec so you all should take it with a grain of salt. Citaat: Thomas Jackermeier: We wanted to send ISR a review unit this week but as you can already see, it is not in the interest of Darin to give this wheel an objective review as he is trying to bash Fanatec since he left our company. So far he did it in private with several people but now he is going public which was clear that this would happen sooner or later. My relationship to Shaun is still very good so I hope that we can work something out.

Not a nice feeling at all! This is, for many, the most important part of the wheel, I mean it is what we pay for right? The FFB in this wheel is mighty different then any other wheel Fanatec has made. As I've mentioned, this wheel uses two Force Feedback Motors instead of one, which means more strength right? Well, it does, but not like you think. See, it's technically possible to use these motors to give more strength in the FFB, but that's not what they aimed for. What Fanatec went for with the dual Motors was to individually time each motor to act at a different time, or something very similar to that. Have you ever heard of the term cogging? If you haven't, cogging is the term to describe the mechanical steps the motor goes through. If you've used previous Belt driven wheels you can feel this in the wheel by the small skips you feel when turning. Since there are two motors in the Elite, you cannot feel the cogging at all. Of course it's still there, but the motors cog at different times, meaning you can't feel it. This creates perfectly smooth turning and countersteering. This makes it feel much more direct and connected to the car your driving, and makes it feel like the real thing, not a toy. It really is hard to explain, because you really can't understand how great it feels until you've tried it yourself. I don't hear the fan. Why isn't it running? I put my hand on the side and feel a slight breeze and it is running!

Immersie is veel waard imo.
